August Event and Staff changes
Hello again ACO community, and welcome back from summer vacation! As usual, Katie here, coming at you with a tidal wave of news to beat the summer heat. Read on for the ticket launch of our August event, news about how FanExpo went, and some major staffing changes that our organization has experienced over the past few months!
The piece of news I’m sure everyone is excited to hear is that tickets are officially on-sale and pre registration is up for our august 15-17 event at YMCA Camp Tumbleson Lake! Expect the story to continue in Willow’s Rest, as our heroes get established in a strange new world. Tickets can be purchased at https://www.alliancelarp.co/store ; Tickets will cost the same they always have, and the $10 prereg discount means those prices range from $110 for a full PC ticket to just $10! Once you buy your tickets, please remember to head over to the CMA at https://db.alliancelarp.com/ to check in for the event. Meal plan tickets are on sale for $30 as well! Look forward to a post tomorrow previewing our meal plan and trying something new - asking players for a bit of feedback before the official menu launch!
Are you new to Alliance and registering for your first event? We’re here to help, and we’d love to hear from you! You can reach out via customerservice@alliancelarp.co or directly on discord in the new-player-questions channel - you’ll receive a prompt, attentive response helping you out with ANY questions you may have to help you get to your first event. Keep your eyes tuned for more news about the event over the coming days as we get closer to go time!
The next order of business is a brief highlight of FanExpo! Big thanks to the 15+ volunteers who came out over four days of packed convention action to help promote our beloved game! Working together with Dystopia Rising Colorado, we managed to share the magic of LARP with hundreds of guests - some of who may even be reading this now thanks to your efforts! For volunteers, rewards will be coming soon in the form of Dragon Stamps, Goblin Stamps, Silver Scales, and special commemorative tokens. Lets make sure to give a warm welcome to new players joining the discord and registering for events!
Finally, We’ll be wrapping up todays blog post with some changes in chapter staffing. These changes have been quietly implemented over the apst few months, and now that things have settled out into a more or less lasting looking configuration, we are excited to be making official announcements. First of all, outgoing staff. Today, two of our chapter's founding leads officially step back from their staff roles and transition into the next step of their journey at ACO as players and community members. We would like to send our sincere thanks to Nathan, who is stepping back from a seat on the board and the Head of Plot role, and Squee, who is stepping back from his roles as head of Adjudication and new player liaison. Our chapter never could have successfully formed or gotten underway without the tireless efforts of these two fine folks, so please make sure to thank them for the countless hours of hard work and dedication next time you see them.
Our plot team will continue to thrive under the guidance of Rynne, who is stepping back from her role as head of logistics to answer the call. She has been functionally leading plot efforts for the 2025 season, so expect this change to come along with minimal disruption; Players can look forward to more challenging encounters, emotional story beats, and dramatic twists and turns as the season continues.
Finally, stepping up into the newly opened head of logistics role, we’re excited to welcome Claire to ACO’s leadership team! In addition to experience right here on ACO as a Staff Logistics Member, Claire brings a strong history of logistical expertise as a logistics lead from a couple of other LARPs in the past. We are very excited to work with her going forward, and can assure you that your tags and coin are simply in the best possible hands.
While our team is changing, our commitment to provide transparency, community value, and quality experiences at affordable prices never will. Keep tuned for future staff openings, the beginning of our search to identify a fifth board member, and a revamped adjudication system. We can’t wait to see what the future holds!
That’s all for today’s blog post! Go get those tickets, and we’ll see you August 15 for our next event, Little Home on the Prairie!
Best,
Katie Brockhage
